'' I’ve been using my Thermomix regularly if not daily, since I purchased mine last December 2011. Since then, I have recommended this to friends and family who have all subsequently purchased with no regrets.
What makes the Thermomix unique and special ?
I love having home cooked food vs eating outside where food tend to be more saltish or simply less nutritious. Secondly, it can be fairly tiring to prepare and cook on a daily basis especially after work and having a toddler to look after. After cooking, there’s still alot of washing up to do and maintaining a clean kitchen.
With the Thermomix, it’s greatly increased my home and time management capabilities, as well as increase a whole repertoire of food that I could not have prepared as easily before.
The Thermomix is a superb kitchen applicance that can stir-fry, steam, knead, juice, grind, blender, boil and a whole lot of other capabilities. It’s temperature controlled so you can even use it to double boil, maintain constant temperature (very important for sauces and melting chocolate etc) And it keeps the kitchen relatively oil-free and clean.
On a daily basis, I usually stir-fry or steam my vegetables and meat. There are existing steamers in the market, but I have not met a machine that can stir-fry. When my friend introduced me to the Thermomix, I was bewildered with it’s stir-frying capabilities. To date, I now use the Thermomix to replace all my traditional stir-fry dishes, including frying bee hoon!
The beauty is that it not only cooks to perfection without burning the food, the nutrients are retained in the food and not evaporated away, the food therefore comes out richer in taste and I use less seasonings to achieve a high quality meal.
Besides the great taste, I love it for helping me to save precious time and energy. I’ve backache and shoulder aches, as well as a very active toddler. Often times, I am not able to stand and cook as it will just aggravate the pain. My toddler boy also tends to demand my attention especially when I’m cooking. With the Thermomix, I let it cook for me, and I can attend to the needs of my toddler with ease and a smile, without frustration setting in to multi-task in front of the fire. At the end of the day, there is alot less washing up to do as compared to traditional cooking, including a much cleaner kitchen that requires alot less maintenance.
The Thermomix is not just a cooking appliance, it can knead breads and make cakes, ice-cream, makes superb quality creamy soups in alot less than the amount of time if done the traditional way. I’ve been able to make alot more dishes which I previously would hesitate to make because it would be too time consuming and bearing in mind all the weighing, cutting and washing up to do. The Thermomix has a unique design with several key functions including an in-built weighing machine, that simply enables one to do all the required preparation work within it instead of using multiple bowls to hold the ingredients which translates to lots of washing up, cleaning and time lost.
The Thermomix has a great number of functions as mentioned above, and what that means is that is saves alot of space on a very limited kitchen top!
I’ve removed my steamer, juicer, rice cooker, baby food processor, cake mixer, coffee maker, weighing scale and simply use the Thermomix for most things.
All in all, this is a fantastic investment that surpasses all other kitchen gadgets (and I am a gadgets lady). Most importantly, it has helped me achieve my biggest objective which is to save time on cooking whilst still maintaining the high quality of food that I desire to have at home and better! ''
